Dev Dharm Khalsa is a conservation storyteller who uses photography and filmmaking to connect people with nature. Dev began his career as a video production lead for Alaska’s National Parks, which allowed him to travel to some of North America’s most remote and rugged locations, telling stories of cutting edge climate research in Alaska’s National Parks and documenting traditional ecological knowledge in collaboration with the Gwich’in and Dena’ina Athabaskan tribal communities. Dev has also worked as a Public Information Officer for the Alaska Interagency Incident Management Team, where he produced audiovisual content and supported press communications during major wildfire events along the West Coast.
In 2019, Dev founded Projects in Motion TV, a boutique video production agency specializing in producing high quality media for government, non-profit, and educational organizations. To date, Projects in Motion TV has produced dozens of short films for web distribution. Dev also dedicates a significant amount of time towards sharing his skillset with the next generation of conservation leaders through youth videography workshops and mentorships, which have resulted in films that have been featured at environmental film festivals and screened by various conservation organizations across the United States. In addition to his professional experience, Dev is also a PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver, FAA Certified Drone Pilot, and is actively learning the Spanish language.
